
Biography
Vicente Carrillo Casas, son of Vicente Carrillo Cantos and Gabriela Casas Fornier, was born surrounded by the family heritage of luthiers that dates back to Alfonso Anselmo Alarcón in the 18th century. In 1983 he assumed responsibility for the workshop, maintaining the global prestige of Casasimarro guitars. Member of the Spanish Guitar Federation since 1998, his passion for craftsmanship positions him as a reference for lovers of classical and flamenco guitar.
Background
Since taking the reins of the family business, Vicente Carrillo has raised the fame of his instruments, awarded with the Title of Distinguished Artisan in 1970 and the National Craftsmanship Award in 2010. He has built guitars for virtuosos such as Paco de Lucía, Tomatito, Vicente Amigo, Cañizares, Niño Josele, Javier Limón and Keith Richards, fusing traditional techniques with modern innovations. Its process uses select woods dried for up to 50 years, such as Canadian cedar, Cameroon ebony and Spanish cypress, guaranteeing a unique and deep sound in each 100% handmade piece.
