About the product

From his workshop in Casasimarro, Cuenca, Vicente Carrillo represents one of the most prestigious sagas of luthiers in Spain. His family has been making guitars since 1744, combining ancient wisdom with modern tuning and wood selection techniques. Each instrument signed by Carrillo expresses a deep understanding of flamenco acoustics, where structural lightness, immediate transmission and timbral richness are essential.

The Vicente Carrillo Pasion Negra is a handcrafted concert guitar made in Spain that combines tradition and precision. Its selected German spruce top offers clarity and immediate attack, while the Madagascar rosewood back and sides provide tonal depth and an elegant low register. The Brazilian cedar neck and the ebony fingerboard guarantee comfort and stability, essential in modern flamenco performance. The nitrocellulose lacquer varnish enhances the acoustic response and natural beauty of the woods. Its traditional bracing by maestro Carrillo offers a light structure and free vibration, with a notable balance between treble, midrange and bass.

Its tone combines power and subtlety. The treble is projected with crystalline brilliance, while the middle register retains an enveloping warmth and the bass shows a dry resonance, typical of pure flamenco. The response is immediate, with a balanced projection and a natural acoustic that invites dynamic and expressive touch. The sensation under the fingers is fluid, sensitive to nuance and capable of reflecting the performer’s every intention.

Discovering this guitar is finding the elegant and powerful voice of the Spanish flamenco school, made with passion and respect for tradition.
