About the product
The Prudencio Saez workshop
Prudencio Saez has established itself as a reference in Spanish string instruments thanks to artisanal manufacturing in short series, with quality control very close to individual luthiery work. Their bandurria and lute models share a philosophy with their handcrafted concert guitars: solid woods, traditional design and natural acoustics designed for both the advanced student and the professional musician looking for reliability and warm sound.
Technical details and construction
The Bandurria Prudencio Saez 190 is built entirely with solid woods: solid German spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard and cedar neck, which guarantees long-term stability and tonal depth. The rosewood bridge, the bone nut and saddle, the oval soundhole and the aged MH-012 headstock complete a set of classic and elegant aesthetics, with a glossy finish that highlights the grain of the rosewood and the sobriety of the spruce. The 280 mm scale and 52 mm nut width offer comfortable ergonomics, with good command separation and a feeling of control in the left hand even in high positions.
Sound and character
The Indian spruce–rosewood ensemble provides an immediate response, with defined attack and a harmonic richness that unfolds in open chords and passages of arpeggio with great clarity between voices. The high register is perceived as bright and penetrating, while the lower orders maintain a warm, round sound with balanced projection, ideal for both soloists and as part of a rondalla or plectrum group. The stable tuning, generous sustain and transparency of timbre facilitate an expressive performance, capable of being integrated with both Spanish guitar and professional concert guitar in classical or traditional music contexts.
A handcrafted concert instrument like this bandurria made in Spain invites you to dedicate hours of study and enjoyment at home, letting its resonance and tonal depth accompany each small advance of the performer.
