About the product
The Prudencio Saez workshop
Prudencio Saez, a Valencian workshop with tradition since 1963, is a benchmark in classical guitar, flamenco guitar and artisanal plectrum instruments made in Spain, valued for its balance between careful construction, stability and very reliable natural acoustics. The Prudencio Saez 99 Lute is at the top of its catalogue, designed as a handmade concert instrument for those looking for a professional lute with the soul of a Spanish guitar.
Technical details and construction
The Laud 99 is built entirely with solid woods: solid spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides (dalbergia latifolia), ebony fingerboard and cedar neck, a classic combination in the high range of Spanish luthier. It has a rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddle, quality aged headstock and oval soundhole, with a gloss finish that highlights the deep grain of the rosewood and the elegance of the design. The scale is around 500 mm, with a 52 mm nut, offering comfortable ergonomics for hands accustomed to both classical guitar and flamenco guitar, with a sensation of a light but solid instrument under the fingers.
Sound and character
Thesolid German spruce top provides an immediate response, great clarity of attack and a harmonic richness that opens up especially on wide chords and fast arpeggios, with a very balanced sustain. The solid Indian rosewood body provides tonal depth, round bass and clear treble, achieving a balanced projection that fills the room without losing detail, ideal for plectrum ensembles or to enjoy refined natural acoustics at home. The result is a warm sound, with generous resonance and excellent definition between voices, which dialogues coherently with classical guitar or flamenco guitar, placing this lute in the territory of an authentic artisanal concert instrument made in Spain.
A professional lute like the Prudencio Saez 99 invites you to pick it up daily, explore nuances, let its resonance and tonal depth accompany each piece and turn it, almost without realizing it, into the favorite sound center in the room.
