Biography
Guitarras Camps is an iconic luthiery workshop in Girona, Spain, founded in 1945 by Joan Camps Coll, whose legacy is kept alive thanks to his sons, brothers Jordi and Xavier Camps.
Joan Camps Coll, passionate guitarist and wood expert, founded Guitarras Camps in Banyoles (Girona) in 1945, combining his musical hobby with his experience as a wood worker. Self-taught and innovative, he experimented tirelessly with construction systems, woods, glues and varnishes to create the ideal guitar, inspired by masters such as Antonio Torres, always adapting each instrument to the specific needs of the musician.
Their sons, Jordi and Xavier Camps—known as Brothers Camps—joined them when they were young and took over the management in 1989 after a solid technical and musical training, leading the workshop today with family dedication.
