Vicente Carrillo is a renowned Spanish luthier who reflects in each piece his rich family tradition and passion for high-precision craftsmanship. His workshop combines ancestral techniques with innovation, selecting exceptional woods and careful processes to create unique concert instruments, with their own soul and character. This dedication results in superior quality handcrafted guitars and lutes, appreciated by professionals and discerning amateurs alike.
Construction and woods
The Quixote Arce Lute is a handcrafted concert lute, made in Spain, built with solid curly maple back and sides that provide visual beauty and a very defined response. The top is made of German spruce, the neck is made of cedar and the fingerboard is made of ebony, with Indian rosewood profiles and a satin finish that protects the wood while maintaining a smooth, comfortable and highly resonant surface. The Spanish lutheria work can be seen in the adjustments, the carving of the handle and the general ergonomics, designed for long study sessions without fatigue.
Sound and character
Its timbre offers a warm but very clear sound, withharmonic richness and a balanced projectionthat allows articulating solo lines and accompaniments with the same clarity. The natural acoustics of the German maple-spruce ensemble translates into immediate response, generous sustain and a wide dynamic palette, ideal for exploring nuances from the most intimate pianissimo to bright and luminous passages. It is a concert instrument designed for those looking for a professional lute with tonal depth and a refined touch, comparable to the best handmade Spanish guitar.
