About the product
The Guitarras Camps workshop
Camps, a Spanish luthier with a workshop in Banyoles (Girona) since 1945, has turned the modern classical guitar into a comfortable and reliable instrument for guitarists of all styles, always maintaining the artisanal construction made in Spain and a very careful selection of woods. The Camps CW1 was born precisely with that philosophy: to facilitate the leap from steel electric or acoustic to the nylon universe, without giving up a rich and balanced natural acoustic.
Technical details and construction
The Camps CW1 Cedro features a solid Canadian cedar top, which provides a warm and fast response, and ziricote back and sides, a dense and attractive wood that reinforces projection and tonal depth. The cedar neck with bi-directional adjustable shaft, together with the rosewood fingerboard slightly radiated (soft radius), offers a feel very close to an acoustic guitar, with a 48 mm nut and a short scale of approximately 636–640 mm for immediate ergonomics. The open-pore or matte finish enhances the vibration of the body and the tactile feel of a handcrafted instrument, while the Fishman Classic III amplification system ensures a transparent and balanced amplified sound, ideal as a versatile professional guitar in any environment.
Sound and character
Soundly, the Canadian cedar top translates into an immediate warm sound, with smooth attack, good resonance and generous sustain that invites melodic phrasing and detailed arpeggio. The ziricote on the back and sides provides harmonic richness, solid bass and clear treble, achieving a balanced projection that works equally well for classical guitar repertoire, light flamenco guitar pieces or contemporary fused styles. The slight reduction in the body and the narrow neck favor immediate response and very natural dynamic control, making this Spanish guitar a true handcrafted concert instrument, comfortable for studying at home for hours and enjoying fine nuances in each note.
Let the Camps CW1, made in Spain with premium ziricote and cedar, become your daily companion: a Spanish luthier guitar that invites you to play “a while longer” every time you take it out of the case.
