Vicente Carrillo: Tradition, soul and artisan excellence
Vicente Carrillo, renowned Spanish luthier, represents one of the most respected sagas in the construction of stringed instruments in Spain. With a tradition that combines artisanal techniques passed down for generations and an innovative vision, Carrillo has managed to ensure that each instrument that leaves his workshop reflects a unique sound and construction identity, always betting on the highest quality, sustainability and rigorous selection of the best woods.
Construction and woods
The Quixote India Lute is an artisanal concert instrument, built entirely by hand with solid woods selected and cured for more than 20 years. For the sides and back Indian rosewood is used, providing unique depth and brilliance to the natural acoustics of the instrument. The soundboard is made of solid German spruce, while the neck is made of cedar and the ebony fingerboard is carefully crafted to offer immediate response and great durability. The finish is satin, and the bracing and profiling system responds to the luthier’s tradition, optimizing projection and sustain.
Sound and character
When plucking its strings, the Quixote India Lute displays an enveloping resonance, with a harmonic richness and a transparency that fills any space with nuances warm and vibrant. The combination of Indian rosewood and German spruce provides an exquisite tonal balance: deep bass, clear and forceful treble, and generous sustain, ideal for those seeking a balanced projection, noble character and sensitive response to every interpretive nuance. Its ergonomics and construction invite long sessions full of inspiration, both for professional musicians and music lovers who want to enjoy a truly unique experience at home.
Whoever takes this artisanal lute made in Spain in their hands, feels the heritage, honesty and art of a true Spanish luthier: a professional instrument that invites sonic discovery and turns each performance into an intimate celebration of music.
