About the product
Vicente Carrillo: Manchegan heritage and mastery
With more than a century and a half of history, Vicente Carrillo‘s workshop in Casasimarro (Cuenca) continues a family tradition of lutheria that dates back to 1836. His style combines classic Spanish techniques with a constant search for balance, precision and sound expressiveness. Among his collaborators are interpreters of international prestige, and his work has been recognized with the award of Master Craftsman by the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha.
Construction and materials
The Vicente Carrillo Yamandu Concerto embodies the perfect synthesis between structural elegance and deep musicality. Its soundboard is available in selected German spruce or Canadian cedar, combined with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, generating a rich harmonic response and long sustain. The Brazilian cedar neck sits precisely on a high-density ebony fingerboard, while the satin varnish finish enhances the wood’s natural resonance and provides that warm finish characteristic of handcrafted concert guitars. Its traditional fan bracing, outlined by hand, optimizes projection and tonal balance throughout the register.
Sound and character
Its timbre reveals a wide sound spectrum: the bass is round and deep, with a crystalline midrange and enveloping highs that project effortlessly. The guitar responds with transparency and sensitivity to the player’s touch, offering a natural, balanced and dynamic acoustic. It is an instrument that vibrates with soul, capable of filling any space with its warm sound and its timbral elegance.
Discovering this guitar is opening a door to the purest essence of the Spanish guitar tradition.
