Vicente Carrillo: Manchegan heritage and mastery
From his workshop in Casasimarro, Cuenca, Vicente Carrillo represents one of the most respected sagas of luthiers in Spain. With more than seven generations dedicated to the construction of classical and flamenco guitars, its philosophy unites ancestral knowledge, artisanal precision and a constant search for tonal balance. Each instrument that bears his name is testimony to that sonic heritage and the care he gives to every detail.
Construction and materials
The Spalted NC SP Heritage guitar combines select woods and a refined design. The soundboard, available in German spruce or Canadian cedar, is enriched by a spalted maple back and sides, whose natural grain and unique tonality provide elegance and a warm diffusion of sound. The Brazilian cedar neck, with African ebony fingerboard, provides precise touch feel and exceptional stability. The varnish on the body is nitrocellulose lacquer, shellac is applied on the top, while the neck is satin, which enhances the natural resonance of the wood, allowing free vibration and harmonious acoustic aging. Its bracing, inspired by the traditional Spanish system, optimizes projection and harmonic purity.
